New 15 Series Ice and Water Dispensers

15 Series countertop

January 27, 2014 EASTON, PA – Follett Corporation announces the release of the new 15 Series ice and water dispensers, a product line extension to the popular 7 Series ice and water dispensers. The 15 Series comes in countertop and freestanding models. These dispensers can produce up to 125 lbs of Chewblet® ice per day and hold 15 lbs of ice to provide enhanced refreshment opportunities for work groups up to 50 people.

"Based on the extremely positive market feedback on our compact 7 Series dispenser and the need to serve even larger work groups, we developed the higher capacity 15 Series," according to Follett Corporation CEO Steve Follett. "The 15 Series dispensers have the same popular features as our 7 Series, including an attractive design, drainless installation, sanitary dispensing, and antimicrobial protection, plus the additional ice storage capacity to serve more people."

The new 15 Series dispensers, along with the 7 Series, feature Follett's proprietary Chewblet ice, a chewable nugget that consumers prefer by over 2:1 compared to cube-type ice. The larger storage capacity allows customers to support enhanced refreshment offerings such as iced coffee and iced tea, and contribute to overall employee satisfaction.

With its highly efficient refrigeration and water systems, the 7 and 15 Series are up to 60% more energy efficient than similar sized cube-type ice makers and offer up to a 75% reduction in water consumption compared to undercounter ice machines found in offices today.

Follett adds carbonless filtration systems to water treatment solutions

January 21, 2014 Easton, PA - Follett Corporation has introduced a new carbonless filter as an addition to its water treatment solutions for ice machines and ice and water dispensers. The filter offers maximum protection against scale and biofilm.

Carbonless water filters are a new and innovative solution that aids in maintaining machine chambers by allowing chlorine and chloramines from municipal water supply to pass though, helping to inhibit bacteria growth and biofilm in ice machines and dispensers. The high performance filtration system filters out parasitic cysts and dirt.

The filter includes Agion® antimicrobial product protection¹ to inhibit the growth of biofilm on the filters and enhance filter performance. The high capacity carbonless filter is certified to NSF Standard 42 - particulate class I and NSF Standard 53 - cyst reduction, with a rated capacity of 15,000 gallons to meet facilities’ high ice and water demands. It also contains a scale inhibitor to reduce minimal build-up.

"Carbonless filters are another tool that Follett customers can use to assure optimum performance from their ice machines and dispensers,” according to Gary Gutman, Director of US Healthcare Sales.

Follett 7 Series Receives Kitchen Innovations Award for Drainless Design

7 Series Ice & Water Dispenser by Follett

April 12, 2013 EASTON, PA - Follett's 7 Series ice and water dispenser was selected as a 2013 Kitchen Innovations award recipient by the National Restaurant Association (NRA). 7 Series will be featured in the Kitchen Innovations exhibit at the NRA Show 2013 being held May 18 through 21 in Chicago.

The 7 Series was designed to solve the problems of height, drain availability, and aesthetic design in employee refreshment and related venues. At only 17.59" high, the 7 Series dispenser is short enough to go on a counter under a wall-mount cabinet, and its 14.62" width takes up minimal counter space. Despite its compact size, 7 Series can produce up to 125 pounds of consumer-preferred Chewblet® nugget ice per day and store up to 7 pounds.

To solve the drain availability issue that limits the placement of many dispensers, Follett designed the 7 Series icemaker and bin such that melted ice in the enclosed bin returns to the icemaker to be refrozen rather than drain out of the dispenser. In addition to eliminating the need for a drain, this design reduces installation costs and allows 7 Series to be installed in places where other icemakers/dispensers cannot be today. It also minimizes water consumption, contributing to world-class energy and water efficiency.

Finally, the aesthetic design with capacitive touch dispenser interface and soft blue accent lighting complements any décor with the added benefit of an energy conserving sleep mode, making it ideal to place pantries, reception areas, lounges and other similar venues.

Horizon 3 phase remote condenser ice machine
April 27, 2012 EASTON, PA - Follett Corporation adds outdoor condensing units with 3 phase power supply to its remote ice machine configurations.  Not only do outdoor condensing units remove from the building the heat generated when making ice, but these new energy efficient units save 20% over single phase units.

In addition to reducing the power required, the 3 phase machine's lower amp load allows for smaller circuits, saving money on installation.  Follett's Horizon™ ice machines with the new 3 phase outdoor condensing units produce the same high quality Chewblet® ice as the single phase remote condensing units as well as the self-contained machines.  The outdoor condensing units are available for Horizon 1000, 1400 and 1650 series ice machines.
