Follett Celebrates Business Success and the Kick-off of its United Way Campaign

November 2014. Easton, PA. – Follett Corporation celebrated its growth as a company and the launch of its 2014 United Way campaign in a company-wide celebration on October 7 at its corporate headquarters in Forks Township.  A luncheon was held for all employees to recognize and celebrate the significant employee contributions to the company’s successful growth and to reinforce the importance of giving back to the community through United Way.

After the luncheon, 60 employees participated in the Follett Chewblet® Ice Bucket Challenge, for which the company contributed $3,000 to kick-off its United Way campaign.

The first to take the Chewblet Ice Bucket Challenge was CEO Steve Follett. “Giving back to our community as a responsible corporate citizen is extremely important and is one of our company’s core values,” according Follett.  “United Way does such a marvelous job helping those in need throughout the entire Lehigh Valley and across the country.  This celebration allowed us to reflect on our many blessings and create an exciting way to kick off our United Way Campaign."

October 6, 2014 EASTON, PA – Follett Corporation announces the release of its newly redesigned Symphony Plus™ ice and water dispensers and Maestro Plus™ ice machines. While maintaining the proven performance and reliability of the Symphony™ and Maestro™ product lines, Symphony Plus dispensers and Maestro Plus ice machines represent the next step in Follett’s ongoing efforts to meet the demanding needs of the healthcare and foodservice markets with solutions that provide sanitation, serviceability, sustainability and overall low life cycle costs.

Key among the many technical and performance improvements to Follett’s market leading dispensers include automatic self-flushing to remove impurities from the water supply after every hour of ice making, semi-automatic cleaning and sanitizing to reduce service times by 50-75%, QuietNight™ sleep mode to reduce noisy compressor starts and contribute to a more peaceful environment, and a patent pending drain system to better evacuate melted ice and water from the dispenser.

Follett Corporation Names Mike Rice to Vice President of Marketing

Easton, PA. March 2014. Follett Corporation announces the promotion of Michael Rice to the position of Vice President of Marketing. Mike will be responsible for leading the marketing effort that supports Follett’s businesses in the healthcare and foodservice industries worldwide.

Mike joined Follett in 2003 as Manager of New Business Development, transitioned into the Marketing department in 2005, and was named Director of Marketing in 2012. He helped introduce Follett’s expanding line of Horizon ice machines and was responsible for the launch of the highly successful 7 Series ice and water dispensers. Mike is now responsible for supporting all new product development and marketing efforts for Follett’s growing healthcare and foodservice product lines in both domestic and international markets.

Follett Corporation Names Chris O’Meara to Director of Customer Care Operations

Easton, PA - March 2014. Follett Corporation announces the promotion of Christopher O’Meara to the position of Director of Customer Care Operations. Chris will be responsible for leading both the customer service and technical service teams that provide pre- and post-sales support to Follett’s customer base across the globe.

Chris joined Follett in 2008 as Manager of Technical Services and has been responsible for advancing breadth and scope of Follett’s overall technical support of customers in an increasingly demanding post-sale service environment. In his new role, Chris will also drive the growth of the industry-leading customer service sales support programs that foodservice and healthcare customers worldwide have come to expect from Follett.

New 15 Series Ice and Water Dispensers

January 27, 2014 EASTON, PA – Follett Corporation announces the release of the new 15 Series ice and water dispensers, a product line extension to the popular 7 Series ice and water dispensers. The 15 Series comes in countertop and freestanding models. These dispensers can produce up to 125 lbs of Chewblet® ice per day and hold 15 lbs of ice to provide enhanced refreshment opportunities for work groups up to 50 people.

"Based on the extremely positive market feedback on our compact 7 Series dispenser and the need to serve even larger work groups, we developed the higher capacity 15 Series," according to Follett Corporation CEO Steve Follett. "The 15 Series dispensers have the same popular features as our 7 Series, including an attractive design, drainless installation, sanitary dispensing, and antimicrobial protection, plus the additional ice storage capacity to serve more people."

The new 15 Series dispensers, along with the 7 Series, feature Follett's proprietary Chewblet ice, a chewable nugget that consumers prefer by over 2:1 compared to cube-type ice. The larger storage capacity allows customers to support enhanced refreshment offerings such as iced coffee and iced tea, and contribute to overall employee satisfaction.

With its highly efficient refrigeration and water systems, the 7 and 15 Series are up to 60% more energy efficient than similar sized cube-type ice makers and offer up to a 75% reduction in water consumption compared to undercounter ice machines found in offices today.
