Follett meets the standards for cold storage solutions for blood products

Storage devices shall have the capacity and design to ensure that the proper temperature is maintained. (AABB Standard 3.6.1)
Whole blood and red blood cell components should be stored from 1°C to 6°C (AABB Reference Standard 5.1.8A)
  • Temperature uniformity of Follett refrigerator is +/- 1°C
  • Factory set point for REF20/25BB is 3.3°C
  • Factory set point for REF5BBP-T is 4.4°C
  • Heavy-duty, forced-air refrigeration systems provide quick recovery after door openings
Plasma components should be stored ≤ -18°C (AABB Reference Standard 5.1.8A)

Internal storage temperatures of refrigerators, freezers and platelet incubators shall be monitored. (AABB Standard 3.6.2)
For storage of blood or blood components, the temperature shall be monitored continuously and recorded at least every 4 hours. (AABB Standard 5.1.8.1.3)
  • Follett refrigerators and freezers monitor the temperature inside the storage cabinet and display current, min and max temperature on the user interface.
  • 50,000 data points of temperature data is stored at user-selectable intervals on the user interface and can be displayed, graphed or downloaded.
